First Aid

1. Each Patrol should have with them a fully stocked First Aid Kit with quantities suitable for the activity and the numbers involved. It should only contain:-

2. The First Aid Kit should be stored in a clearly marked, preferably green with white markings, clean container and kept in a readily accessible place on the Patrol site.

3. During the camp one member of the Patrol other than the PL should be designated as the First Aider. The First Aider should have knowledge of First Aid and know how to deal with minor incidents which might reasonably be expected to occur.

4. The Patrol First Aider should be aware of Patrol members who may have an allergic reaction to adhesive plasters, bee stings, analgesics or Penicillin etc.

5. It is essential that the First Aider and PL know where the nearest available telephone is situated, the location of the nearest adult supervision and the exact location of the camp site.

6. Any accident or injury that occurs during the camp must be logged in a book by the First Aider stating the name of the injured person, the type of injury, cause of the injury and names of witnesses.
