Wandle Fortnight - Help Needed

We are holding a District PR event at DHQ on the 9th and 10th September 2017 during the Wandle Fortnight and are putting on a number of Scouting related activities, to include a Monkey Bridge, Backwoods Cooking and Shelter Building as well as other bases.

This is a great opportunity to engage with the Local Community by helping to celebrate Wandle Fortnight and will allow you to tick the Community event in your GDP.

This is not an event for our current members but an event to 'sell' Scouting to non-members and therefore grow numbers.

Groups could gain youth members and even adult help from the event but the general aim is to raise awareness of Scouting in Merton and is a public engagement opportunity for our District.
The District Executive is fully behind this event.

If you are interested, please sign up for one or more 2-3 hour sessions on either Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th September by contacting Alan Green or Dave Christmas.

We are also planning a barbeque on the Saturday evening for leaders, details here.

24th World Scout Jamboree

The 24th World Scout Jamboree is going to be held in North America in July/August 2019. Scouts & Explorers are needed to represent Greater London South West.
We are looking for 72 young people for the adventure of a lifetime – GLSW is sending two complete units of 36 young people and 4 adults to America.
This is a once in a lifetime experience – you can only go to the World Jamboree as an Explorer and the Jamboree is once every four years.
More information can be found here.

The Application Form is here.

Applications must be received by 10th September 2017
