St George's Day Parade & Service

General Arrangements

The Parade
Assemble at The Causeway on Wimbledon Common at 1.00pm. The Causeway will be closed to traffic by the Police
The march will be led by the combined bands of Sutton and Wimbledon and Wandle and will move off at 1.15pm and directed by Local Police Officers and our own stewards.
The march for all sections will be down Wimbledon Village then turning right into The Ridgway and along until turning left into Edge Hill
Entrance into the College is through the second set of double gates as the parade passes down Edge Hill, the Mayor will be just inside the gates on the raised platform to the left.
Having passed the Mayor, the parade will bear right towards the playing field, through the gates and then turn left along the path at the top of the playing field (keep off the newly re-seeded grass!!) into the open car park area and then into the Sports Hall.

Please note that the hall has an expensive rubberised sports floor and the College has stated that Stilettos and other pointed heels are not permitted in the hall so must be removed before entering.
The Service
Service at the Wimbledon College Sports Hall
Groups will be directed into the hall by stewards
The service will commence at 1.50 pm
There will be a collection for a charity for the disabled during the first song
Parents can come but priority will be for the young people and Leaders. However it is a big hall and it is anticipated that all should be able to get into the service
The service will be over by 2.30 pm and the dismissal will be on the car park area in front of the hall
General Information
There is limited parking in the surrounding streets, Edge Hill has double yellow lines in places
As always it is in full uniform with awards to be worn by Leaders.
ADC David Gould will be responsible for assembly on the common and the parade
DDC Keith Daly will be responsible for the Hall and entry of flags
DC Bob Prescott will be responsible for the Service
