The Parade
Assembly will be in the Causeway at 1:00pm led by Paul Atkins. The Causeway will be closed to traffic from Satuday evening so that it will be free of moving traffic and parked cars
Parking can be on the Common or at the Church
Police Officers will be on duty for the whole of the Parade
The parade will form up 3 abreast as directed behind the band in The Causeway.
Groups including Beavers will form up in numerical order at the marker with their name on.
Explorer Units will all be together at the back of the parade.
Any Brownie or Guides attending will Parade with their associated Scout Group.
The Union & St George's flags will be carried at the front of the Parade by Explorers
The Parade will move off at 1:20pm
The route will be through Wimbledon Village High Street where The Mayor will take the salute just prior to the Dog & Fox Pub
Each Group should be led by the GSL or Leader-in-Charge who will call for "eyes left" & "eyes forward" at the markers
From the High Street the Parade will turn right into The Ridgway and left down Edge Hill to the Church
The Parade will turn left into The Sacred Heart Church
The Colours will form up as directed on the approach to the Church
The Band will leave the event at this point to lead the Sutton Parade
Groups will enter the Church through one of the entrances as directed
At The Church
Entry to & exit from the Church will be led by Bob Prescott
Flag Bearers will be directed to form up on either side of the front door
Groups will be directed to their seats by stewards
Parents are welcome to come but priority will be given to young people and leaders. Parents will enter last and take up any spare seating as directed by stewards
The Service
Bob Prescott is in charge of the Service
The Service will commence at 2:00pm
When all are seated the instruction "All Stand" will be given for the entry of Guests, President & Vice Presidents
Entry of Flags
Flag Bearers will be seated by stewards
The National Anthem will be sung
The entry of the Union & St George flags will be received by Bob Prescott & Father Gerard
The flag of St George will be laid on the altar
The collection should be taken by Groups as soon as they are seated using envelopes available in the pews. The envelopes will be collected by stewards at the appropriate point in the Service
At the conclusion of the Service, flag bearers will collect their flags and be positioned down the centre aisle. Following the final prayer they will move out of the Church followed by Guests, President and Vice-Presidents
The DC will dismiss the District from inside the church
The playing field in Wimbledon College can be used as a marshaling area for Groups waiting for young people to be collected by their parents
Uniform
Everyone should be in full, correct, smart uniform as we will be in the public eye
Centenary scarves may be worn as well as Group scarves
Leaders should wear their current award
