NANs – Nights Away Notification
This form needs to be completed for all over-night activities including sleep overs at your own headquarters and events run by either District or County.
For international events, refer to Form VA but please submit a NAN form for our records.
The NAN form and Risk Assessment should be submitted via davebxb@gmail.com as soon as possible (changes to numbers attending can be amended nearer the time if necessary) but must be received a minimum of 14 days before the event.
Once approved, the NAN form will be endorsed and returned to you. Without this certified form the event cannot take place. If you have not received approval three days before your event please contact davebxb@gmail.com
POR Rule 9.57m states that the home Commissioner MUST BE notified before any camping or residential event takes place.
POR Rule 4.65 states that every Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer must have the opportunity to attend at least one nights away experience every year.
It is very clear that not all Sections in each Group are meeting this POR minimum requirement.
