NANs – Nights Away Notifications

A Nights Away Notification (NAN) must be submitted through My Membership before any overnight residential activity takes place.

Anyone submitting a NAN must have an appropriate Nights Away Permit (or be working towards one). It is also recommended that the volunteer running the Nights Away has completed Module 16 – Running Residential Experiences.

International trips 

The protocol for international trips in Scouts works is more involved.

A Nights away notification must be submitted as part of the planning for a Visit Abroad.

In Wimbledon and Wandle

In Wimbledon and Wandle, all Nights Away Notifications must be submitted at least 14 days before the first day of the event.

Dave Bixby must also be contacted so the district can review the notification and ensure it has been received through the Membership System.
