District Roles

District 14–24 Team Leader

Help shape the future of older Scouting in our District!
We’re looking for someone with big-picture vision and enthusiasm to lead our 14–24 provision (Explorers and Network). You’ll support our Explorer and Network team leaders, bring them together, and help make sure young people have a great programme with opportunities to achieve their top awards.

  • Great for someone who enjoys strategy and people support

  • Works closely with the District Leadership team

  • No need to “do it all” – you’ll enable and cheer on others

District Explorer Programme Team Leader

Support the next step in Scouting adventures!
Explorers (14–18) are all about challenge, independence and preparation for adult life. We need a District Explorer Team Leader to:

  • Support Explorer Section teams across the District

  • Encourage leaders and young people to try new things

  • Help young people progress to Network or into volunteering

This role is about enabling, guiding and building a strong Explorer offer – not running every unit yourself.

District Squirrel Programme Team Leader

Support the very first adventures in Scouting!
Squirrels (4–6) are all about fun, friendship and discovering the world for the first time. We need a District Squirrel Programme Team Leader to:

  • Support Squirrel Section teams across the District

  • Share ideas and help new Dreys get started

  • Encourage volunteers to deliver safe, inclusive and creative programmes

This role is about enabling, guiding and building a strong Squirrel offer – not running every Drey yourself.

Group Roles

We are in need of adult volunteers in our groups and sections across the district, if you have a few hours to spare then please get in touch with us.

If you would like to volunteer but not work directly with our youth members then that is not a problem. We have lots of different roles available including Events planning, Fundraising, Book keeping/Treasurer roles, Tea makers etc, what ever your skill may be we can find a role for you!
