Learning for your role

Protected: Volunteer Resources Learning for your role

All volunteers in Scouts need to complete parts of the adult learning scheme. The base requirement is called Growing Roots. Depending on your role, the modules within Growing Roots change depending on what your role is. All of the learning except First Response is accessible as e-learning through My Learning. Group Team Leaders and Team Members

Section Team Member

  • Safety and Safeguarding within 30 days of your role starting. These need to be renewed every 3 years.
  • Who we are and what we do, Creating inclusion, Data protection in Scouts and Delivering a great programme need to be completed within 180 days (6 months) of your role starting.
  • First Response needs to be completed within 12 months of your role starting and renewed every 3 years.

District Team Leader

  • Safety and Safeguarding within 30 days of your role starting. These need to be renewed every 3 years.

  • 14-24 Team Leader needs to complete First Response within 1 year of the role starting and renew every 3 years.

Treasurer

  • Safety and Safeguarding: must be completed within the first 30 days. Renewed every 3 years.
  • Creating Inclusion, Data Protection in Scouts, Who We Are and What We Do, and Being a Trustee in Scouts need be completed within 180 days (6 months) of your role starting.

Trustee

  • Safety and Safeguarding: must be completed within the first 30 days. Renewed every 3 years.
  • Creating Inclusion, Data Protection in Scouts, Who We Are and What We Do, and Being a Trustee in Scouts need be completed within 180 days (6 months) of your role starting.
