Purpose:

Ensure meetings are well-run, decisions are recorded, and actions are followed up.

Ensure compliance with Scouts and charity financial policies.

To support the Scout Group or District in a specific capacity that involves regular contact with young people or access to sensitive information, where a disclosure (DBS) check is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with agreed activities, events, or responsibilities as defined by the Group or District.
Follow all Scouts safeguarding, safety, and data protection policies.
Maintain appropriate boundaries and report any concerns immediately.
Represent the values and reputation of Scouting positively.

Disclosure check (DBS) required before starting; hours flexible depending on involvement.

Purpose:
To support the processing and verification of disclosure (DBS) applications for volunteers within the group, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with Scouts safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify volunteer identity documents and assist with completing disclosure applications.
Maintain confidentiality and handle personal data securely in line with GDPR.
Liaise with the relevant Lead Volunteer or HQ as needed to resolve application queries.
Keep clear records of completed checks and ensure updates are tracked.
Promote understanding of the disclosure process among volunteers.

Support applicants through the joining and disclosure process.
Work with the Group Lead Volunteer to match new volunteers to suitable roles.
Ensure accurate records of recruitment progress are maintained.
